Hoops-a-Daisy is now one of the most respected and well known names in Bridal wear in the North of England with over 25 years of experience, stocking over 300 of the most beautiful Wedding Dresses and a huge range of superb accessories. It isn’t hard to see why this is – everything in the shop is designed to make the customer comfortable, from the air conditioning to the large private changing rooms. And this dedication has been recognised – in 2004, Hoops-a-Daisy was voted into the top 3 ‘Best Designed Bridal Salons in the UK’ and in 2007, Barbara Scott, a long standing member of staff, won the ‘Best Bridalwear Salesperson’ award, both from the ‘Bridal Buyer’ magazine Bridal awards. In 2013 we won the ‘Best Specialist Retailer’ and were runners up on the ‘Customer Service’ category and in 2014 we went on to win the ‘Best Customer Service’ category in the Wakefield Retail Awards.

DO I NEED TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT? WHAT DAY IS BUSIEST?

We recommend you start shopping 1 year to 9 months before your wedding. Once you have found the perfect dress it could take several months for your dress to be made and delivered. From then, you’ll need a few weeks to get any alterations done too.

You are welcome to visit our showrooms at any time if you would like to just look at what is on offer. You will be able to see everything, have a coffee and a chat about your needs but to try dresses on you will need an appointment so that we can assign a dedicated sales advisor and a private changing room. Saturdays are always in demand and can be rather busy – why not try to take an afternoon off work and come during the week when it is quieter? Our opening hours are 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. To make your visit as comfortable as possible we have large, private changing rooms, air conditioning and free parking right outside the door.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

When you come to us to try on Wedding Gowns, you will be assigned a sales advisor who will be serving you alone. You will have a large, private fitting room, and you and your guests will be seated and offered refreshments. Please note, when you come out of the fitting room there may be other customers in the shop. Please let us know if this is a particular problem and we will try to place you in a more private area, however this may not be possible on Saturdays.

Once the dress has been chosen and has been delivered, we will store the dress free of charge and covered by insurance until the wedding. You may come and try the dress on whenever you need to, however it will be necessary to make an appointment. If required we will arrange for you to see one of our highly experienced seamstresses who will alter the dress for you. We have our own sewing room so the dress will remain on our premises at all times. Please note, there is a charge for alterations and we are happy to give you an approximate quote before the work goes ahead. You are free to take the dress to your own choice of seamstress if you wish.

If required we will hire a hooped petticoat to you at a small additional cost. We will arrange for you to have a ‘rehearsal’ in the dress, this will include how to walk, turn and sit in the dress and we will show your bridesmaids how to help you put the dress on. We will press and hand finish the dress before collection so that it is ready to wear. We will carry the dress to your car for you. After the wedding we can get your dress dry cleaned and boxed for you (at an additional charge).
